Beer Brewery
Pasteurised. Usually called Draught; sometimes called Cold or Extra Cold - same beer, but served colder. Launched in 1961. Ingredients: Pale ale malt, about 25 to 30% flaked barley, and about 10% roasted barley, with no other grains or sugars; several hop varieties, mainly Goldings (pellets and isomerized extract); a flocculent head-forming ale yeast.

This West Coast/Rocky Mountain-style India Pale Ale is back-hopped for a more intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma without the balance of caramel malts like our Midwest-style Baldock IPA. It has medium-high alcohol content, high fruity, floral and citrus-like American-varietal hop character, deep golden color and medium maltiness.
This brew looks at weisbier and doesn't really stray from the classic themes. Moderate Phenols (clove), low noble hop aroma (Hallertau), slightly sweet flavors from Pilsner Malt, some haziness thrown from the proteins in the wheat malt, and a tartness intrinsic to the yeast. Yeast is one of four inherent properties of beer and German Weizen yeasts are some of the most world renowned. At just over 5% its a beer that's good to have as a friend.

Our flagship beer, Black Butte Porter defined Deschutes as a place intent to follow its own brewing muse. At a time when dark beer was viewed with suspicion, this deep, satiny brew went out and dispelled the myths for a generation of enthusiasts. Black Butte is rich in flavor yet easy to drink, with a creamy, smooth mouth feel. The slight hop bitterness up front only enhances the distinctive chocolate and roasted finish to come. It continues to reap accolades and medals from those who know best.
The Passion Fruit Prussia is our non-traditional look at the classic Berliner Weisse style. Brewed with a generous amount of passion fruit, this beer pours golden in color with a nice tart finish. A perfect compliment to the summer heat.
A straw colored Belgian-style Saison brewed with chamomile flowers. It is fermented with a traditional saison yeast strain that imparts fruity and spicy notes that dovetail perfectly with the tea-like quality of the chamomile. Finishes dry, tart, and refreshing.

Reverance Series. Our brewmaster Florian admittedly hasn’t dabbled in ciders too often. So when he described UCBC’s very first cider, Bushelhead, as estery and a little ‘winey’ we weren’t sure if he wasn’t being a bit ‘whiney’ himself. So we’ve declared that besides being a cider, “Bushelhead” is a homonym meaning; ‘winey, ‘strong cider’, or ‘whiney’. Thus our tagline – “Bushelhead – A bushelhead, bushelhead created by bushelhead brewers.”
